Our media team is made up of specialists across search, social and programmatic. As a Paid Social Manager, Izzy Scott-Evans supports brands across a range of platforms. In this Q&A, she shares more about her role and her journey so far.

Your role in a sentence?

I devise and manage paid social campaigns for a variety of clients to help them achieve their main KPIs and business goals.

Favourite part of your role?

I love conducting creative reviews for my clients, and providing them with recommendations of new ad ideas to test off the back of these reviews.

Your journey so far?

Over four years ago, I started my career in paid media, learning how to run and manage paid search and social campaigns for a range of clients. I quickly discovered a love for paid social, particularly helping to improve ad creative.

Joining RocketMill three years ago as a Paid Media Executive, my love for paid social continued, leading me to transition into a dedicated paid social role within the Social Specialist team.

Best project to date?

I helped lead on and manage the paid social activity for a large-scale ecommerce jewellery brand for over two years, which I thoroughly enjoyed. We ran and optimised campaigns across multiple social platforms, continuously reviewed and tested new ad creative, and were able to achieve high revenue targets for the client across significant promotional periods.

Advice for someone looking to start in paid media?

My advice for someone looking to start in paid media would be to make sure you do your research and speak to others in the industry to determine whether the role is right for you. But also, if you’re passionate about paid media, don’t be afraid to take a leap of faith into the role, as you may surprise yourself with what hidden strengths and opportunities you could uncover.

Best thing about working at RocketMill?

While a lot of companies pride themselves on being a ‘people-first’ organisation, RocketMill has consistently proven itself to be one. They invest in their employees and it’s definitely felt across the business through regular socials and employee benefits, which include the opportunity to work abroad for a month a year. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else!

Life outside of RocketMill?

Outside of RocketMill, I love to travel and to explore new places. I am currently preparing for a big trip to South Africa!
