Here's what we need

As a Digital PR & Outreach Director, you will report directly to the Head of SEO.

We are excited to be developing a new product based on the concept of “Surround Sound SEO” which you will be at the helm of. Initially this role will be a mix of strategy and execution with the remit of increasing a client’s visibility through mentions, coverage, improved sentiment and backlinks. This is an opportunity to build your own team, shape a product and define processes with support from the Head of SEO.

We are passionate about organic search optimisation, brilliant digital experiences, and the pursuit of technical excellence. You will share our passion in these areas, with considerable experience using digital PR and influencer engagement to achieve sustainable visibility on search engines. Moreover, you will be accountable for the visibility of clients’ websites and digital properties across the buyer journey within organic search results.

To achieve this, you will have an excellent understanding of digital PR and earned media as well as identifying and unlocking client stakeholders and workflows. You will be integral to driving earned media placements, brand coverage and backlinks as part of Digital PR, SEO or integrated digital marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying and prioritising earned media opportunities for mentions, coverage, sentiment improvements and backlinks
  • Attending client meetings and running through earned media opportunities
  • Contributing to business cases and forecasts to gain buy-in for digital PR and outreach activities
  • Working with technical, content and creative teams
  • Presenting results and case studies back to clients and the business
  • Identifying opportunities to drive innovation within the department
  • Contributing to the SEO strategy, campaign ideation and roadmaps
  • Taking briefs from clients and executing the work
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key influencers, bloggers and journalists
  • Conducting outreach to gain coverage on national and international (English speaking) press and publishers
  • Helping our clients grow through sustainable organic search visibility
  • Taking ownership of client’s digital PR strategy and its impact on organic performance
  • Leading strategic discussions about how SEO can solve business challenges and drive marketing performance
  • Preparing qualitative and quantitative reports on campaign performance
  • Meeting dynamic KPIs set out specifically for you and your role
  • Staying abreast of developments in SEO best practice, and sharing knowledge across the team where applicable

Skills Profile

We expect a comprehensive knowledge of organic search engine optimisation, with considerable experience planning, coordinating and executing digital PR campaigns. As a Digital PR & Outreach Director you will perform analysis, provide ideas, execute outreach and report back and must be comfortable to deliver analysis, strategy and execution ahead of deadlines using a suite of industry-leading software and tools.

The digital landscape is always evolving, so it is imperative you keep your SEO knowledge up-to-date. You will, for example, demonstrate understanding of Surround Sound SEO and how the concept is developing with industry support. Moreover, RocketMill aspires to place data at the heart of all we do, so you must be capable of interrogating Google Analytics, and show experience of using other analytical tools.

Essential Skills

  • Extensive experience working in Digital PR with excellent story generation, asset creation, networking, media list management, PR research and outreach skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of campaign tactics, and commitment to keep this up-to-date
  • Demonstrable experience planning and executing campaigns
  • Product and process development
  • Line management experience, training and mentoring
  • Proficiency with industry-standard tools
  • Reporting experience – updating clients on performance against KPIs
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, G-Suite and everyday IT
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication with clients and influencers
  • Accountable for the performance
  • Able to balance your workload and deliver on time
  • Be a positive person that adds energy to our team
