Here's what we need

As a Senior SEO Content Executive, you will report to one of our SEO Content  Managers or Directors.

We are passionate about organic search optimisation, brilliant digital experiences, and the pursuit of excellence. You will share our passion in these areas, with experience using SEO to achieve sustainable visibility on search engines. Moreover, you will contribute to the search facing content of clients’ websites and digital properties.

To achieve this, you will help support high-impact organic search and content strategies on behalf of our clients. This will involve researching, creating and optimising content on clients’ websites based on analytics, keyword research, and an understanding of how UX affects content. 

As you progress, you will have the opportunity to lead on strategies for any clients you are assigned to lead on. Each strategy will help fulfil agreed objectives, work within budget and deliver against KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Attending client meetings and presenting your work
  •  Presenting results and case studies back to the business
  •  Supporting initiatives to drive innovation within the department
  •  Working on briefs from senior members of the team
  • Supporting the development of sophisticated SEO content strategies, informed by data, that complement the technical workflow and address the objectives and KPIs of clients.
  • Conducting on-site content audits to identify how client content should be optimised to perform better within the organic SERPs.
  • Ensuring that audits, research and landscape investigations are properly utilised to deliver insight-driven strategies.
  • Providing an exceptional level of reporting which includes detailed insights, actionable next steps and which tie-back to overarching business objectives.
  • Producing engaging, creative and SEO-optimised copy in line with brand content strategies. 
  • Developing content across the digital portfolio—writing web pages, blog articles, video scripts/descriptions—that demonstrate expertise in the field to drive relevant traffic to the website. 
  • Updating/refreshing/optimising existing content on websites using keyword placement and internal linking. 
  • Working to help tie technical, creative and UX considerations into our approach to content with clients.
  • Conducting site-wide content audits to improve organic traffic. 
  • Contributing to blog strategies and 12-month content plans. 
  • Producing valuable, grammatically perfect, high-quality, authoritative, practical-utility content to maximise its impact on SERPs. 
  • Creating user-engaging articles to minimise bounce rate.  
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of industry and creative best practices, sharing examples with colleagues. 
  • Contributing in strategic discussions about how SEO can solve business challenges and drive marketing performance
  • Deliver training within the academy and/or mentor a trainee
  • Meeting dynamic KPIs set out specifically for you and your role

Skills Profile

We expect a comprehensive knowledge of organic search engine optimisation, with experience supporting on medium to large content SEO projects and leading on small ones. As a Senior Content SEO Executive, you will undertake content audits, keyword research and competitor analyses as a core part of your role and must be comfortable to deliver exemplary documentation ahead of deadlines using a suite of industry-leading software and tools.

The digital landscape is always evolving, so it is imperative you keep your SEO knowledge up-to-date. You will, for example, demonstrate an understanding of opportunities for AI efficiencies, and conversational search. Moreover, RocketMill aspires to place data at the heart of all we do, so you must be proficient with Google Analytics, and show experience of using SEO analytical tools.

You will recognise the pivotal role user experience plays in modern organic visibility. Experience supporting on large-scale content strategies is highly desirable.

Essential Skills

  •   Experience working in SEO (agency or client-side)
  •   Knowledge of SEO tactics, and commitment to keep this up-to-date
  •   Demonstrable experience performing website audits, backlinks and migrations
  •   Proficiency with industry-standard SEO tools – crawlers, link checkers, etc.
  •   Reporting experience – updating clients on performance against KPIs
  •   Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, advanced formulae)
  •   Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and everyday IT
  •   Excellent written and spoken English
  •   Excellent communication
  •   Accountable for the reporting and technical monitoring of your clients
  •   Able to balance your workload and deliver on time
  •   Be a positive person that adds energy to our team

Desirable Skills

  •   Strategic experience – consulting on how content can have a measurable impact
  •   Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
