Google offer numerous free tools and resources for web developers, including their Libraries API. Google hosts minified libraries of most coding frameworks that can be used for free. There are numerous advantages to using Google’s minified libraries over the ones built in to WordPress. The biggest being load speed and ease of use.

WordPress loads the jQuery framework by default but there are many people claiming that loading Google’s framework is faster than using the bundled version.
Removing WordPress’s bundled jQuery manually and adding Google’s leads us in to various pitfalls with compatibilities mode. The easiest way to implement the change is with a nifty little plugin called “Use Google Libraries” by Jason Penney. All you have to do is install the plugin, activate it and it does the rest for you.
