In May 2010 Google announced Google TV and later on in October it officially launched the service on Sony & Logitech based devices. Content providers such as NBC, ABC, CBS blocked Google TV enabled devices and as of November 2010 Google TV has been blocked from accessing content offered by all Viacom subsidiaries.

Now according to New York Post, Google has been in talks with major Hollywood studios for months and is looking to launch Youtube movie streaming service in UK before expanding to the United States. Apparently, Google has put aside $100 million for content deals and other premium content providers in its plan to expand its subscription based service.
