Google’s define function seems to be broke or by the looks of it replaced. Before you had to query define: someword in Google search box to get the definition of the relevant word from different sources.

By the looks of it the query no longer works, however if you make the same query without the colon i.e define fret you will then get a snippet of definition from sources such as Wikipedia, Dictionary.com, Answers.com and Merriam-Webster. Only if you click on the “more” button right below the snippet you get a pageview of what appears to be Google’s dictionary along with “web definitions”.

If you look closely, the page is actually part of Google Dictionary – check the “dictionary tab below.

Interestingly enough Google retrieves results of the queried word based on “Reading Level” indicated in the screenshot above.
