Are you our new Technical SEO Executive?

Here's what we need

Salary: £18,000 - £25,000, negotiable depending on experience

We are looking for a Technical SEO Executive to join the team in our Brighton office. The successful candidate will report to our Head of Technical SEO.

We are passionate about organic search optimisation, brilliant digital experiences, and the pursuit of technical excellence. You will share our passion in these areas, with demonstrable experience of using SEO to drive success for clients and campaigns. You will have a good understanding of the fundamentals of how the web works, helping ensure absolute technical integrity for your clients’ websites and other web properties.

Skills Profile

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how websites are constructed, while the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building or maintaining websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web programming languages. Your previous experience will have given you some experience using information from website crawls, online tools or analytics platforms to make data-driven decisions. Whether editing a website or a Word document, you bring a sharp eye and attention to detail. Finally, you will be bubbling with ideas, enthusiasm, and fun.

Key Responsibilities

  • To audit websites on all aspects of technical SEO
  • To help our clients grow through sustainable organic search visibility
  • To support strategic discussions about the best ways to use SEO to solve business challenges and drive marketing performance
  • To carry out competitor analysis, link auditing, keyword research, and other research projects as required
  • To prepare regular bespoke qualitative and quantitative reports on SEO campaign performance
  • To meet dynamic KPIs set out specifically for you and your role
  • To stay up to date with developments in technical SEO best practice and share knowledge across the team where applicable
  • Being Google Analytics certified and keeping this up to date

Other Responsibilities

  • Aiding team learning through transparency, sharing your successes and your failures
  • Documenting case studies on successful campaigns, ready for publication on our website and entries in industry awards
  • Contributing to the RocketMill website through blog posts or filmed presentations
  • Managing your briefs and deliverables, and keeping our client-facing project management systems 100% up-to-date
  • Planning your time to balance briefed work and ongoing optimisation, and accurately tracking your time spent on each activity


  • Previous industry exposure – from a relevant internship up to a year’s experience
  • Good knowledge of how websites are constructed, on a technical and workflow level
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Fast learner, especially with new software and tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Able to balance your workload and deliver on time
  • Be a positive person that adds energy to our team


  • Previous experience working within an agency or client team environment
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Working knowledge (or better) of PHP, SQL or other relevant web technologies
  • Google Analytics IQ certification
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., complex formulae and PivotTables)
  • Excellent communicator, able to speak with authority to clients and colleagues alike
