Salary: £30,000 – £40,000, negotiable depending on experience
Due to significant growth in our client portfolio, RocketMill is looking for a senior strategist to join our content team and drive audience growth for a number of key clients. We operate a small, agile team, and you will be given a high level of autonomy to design and execute editorial strategies, and make your mark on the content marketing landscape.
The successful candidate will have considerable relevant experience working in an agency setting, client-side, in-house at a publisher, or a combination of these. Building effective content strategies will be second nature, and the successful candidate will also have a solid understanding of technical SEO, as well as a creative flair.
This is a senior, client-facing role, so the successful candidate will also have experience dealing with stakeholders of all levels, from marketing executives to CEOs. You must be able to distil complex marketing concepts into simple ideas, and be comfortable making the case for content marketing within organisations which may not understand its potential.
We create bespoke, high quality content strategies for our clients, so it is imperative all applicants understand how to analyse the performance of digital content, and make recommendations based on specific businesses and audiences. Our aim is to turn all our clients into successful publishers, not spend all day producing infographics.
We pride ourselves on a unique blend of consultancy and execution, so the successful candidate will be as comfortable writing page titles as they are discussing the future of content marketing at an industry panel event.
Perhaps most important is a tight cultural fit. We’re a small team in a small agency, and we want to grow our skills, not our headcount. We want someone who can grow with us professionally, enhance our company culture, and have a damn good time doing it.
Head of Content
Working closely with RocketMill’s Technical SEO consultants to ensure individual pages, and client sites as a whole, are optimised for organic search
You are a digital native and a passionate creative force. You understand content marketing, have a clear vision for where owned media is heading, and know the part you will play in getting it there.
You passionately advocate for what you believe to be the correct approach, and base that opinion on data. You enjoy being presented with a challenge, not just a list of deliverables.
You are a voracious consumer of media in all its forms, and you’re able to clearly articulate whether you thought S-Town was a masterpiece of the true crime genre, or an unmitigated disappointment.
We’re happy to consider more senior individuals for this role. If your ambition is to deliver meaningful campaigns for some amazing clients – rather than run a 25-person team – we’re confident you’ll find a home at RocketMill. If your work has won awards, you’ve spoken at industry events, and you know content marketing inside out, we’d love to speak to you.
We’ll kick off with a 30 minute phone interview to assess your suitability for the role. If you’re successful, we’ll invite you for an interview at our office. If we like what you’ve got to say, the third and final stage is a group interview.
Aside from our engaging environment, culture and client work, we offer many staff benefits including:
We then monitor your happiness and engagement so that we can be proactive in making our agency a suitable environment that you flourish within.
